Ex-University of Delaware student gets 2 years for rape
NEWARK, Del. (AP) — A man who pleaded guilty to raping a former University of Delaware student has been sentenced to two years in prison.
The News Journal reports 20-year-old Jason Kramer pleaded guilty to fourth-degree rape in August and had additional rape and strangulation charges dropped. He faced up to 15 years in prison before he was sentenced earlier this month.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim agreed to kiss Kramer in his on-campus dorm room in April 2017, but twice declined to have sex. He then forced oral sex, choked her and forced intercourse. Court documents say she told him to stop throughout the attack.
The documents also say she recorded him apologizing the next day for taking advantage of her, despite initially saying he didn’t remember the previous night.
