HARVEY WEINSTEIN - COURT
NEW YORK (AP) — A judge has ordered that Harvey Weinstein (WYN’-steen) be released on continued bail while fighting sex charges. Weinstein pleaded not guilty at his arraignment today in Manhattan. He was brought into the Manhattan courtroom while handcuffed from behind, then uncuffed for the proceeding. Lawyer Ben Brafman argued there was no evidence the 66-year-old Weinstein would flee. An updated indictment alleges the movie mogul-turned-#MeToo villain performed a forcible sex act on a woman in 2006. The new charges include two counts of predatory sexual assault, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison upon conviction. Lawyer Ben Brafman says Weinstein maintains all the allegations are false and he will be vindicated. A grand jury previously indicted Weinstein on charges involving two women.

HARVEY WEINSTEIN-GLORIA ALLRED
NEW YORK (AP) — A lawyer for the third alleged sex crime victim in the prosecution against Harvey Weinstein says her client will testify if the case goes to trial. Gloria Allred said outside court Monday that she doubts Weinstein’s lawyer would allow him to do the same because it would subject him to cross-examination by prosecutors. Defense attorney Ben Brafman said during an arraignment that he expects more charges against the movie mogul. Weinstein maintains all the allegations are false and he will be vindicated.
WEINSTEIN CO. SALE - UNSECURED CREDITORS
NEW YORK (AP) — Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep and Bradley Cooper starring in “Unsecured Creditors?” Doesn’t sound like much of a plot for a movie — but it does make for a pretty interesting case for a judge to handle. The actors are bit players in the scandal that has destroyed the company Harvey Weinstein created — and brought down with his sexual misdeeds. They are owed residuals from Weinstein Co. projects like “Silver Linings Playbook” and “August: Osage County.” Under a deal to sell what’s left of the Weinstein studio, Lantern Capital Partners says it will make sure stars of Weinstein movies don’t get stiffed. The concession is a step forward to getting a judge to sign off on the deal — and for the sale to close by Friday.
ROBIN WRIGHT: CAST WAS SURPRISED BY ALLEGATIONS AGAINST SPACEY
NEW YORK (AP) — Robin Wright says that the cast was surprised and saddened about the sexual misconduct allegations against former “House of Cards” co-star Kevin Spacey. Speaking in a taped interview Monday on NBC’s “Today” show, Wright says she really “didn’t know the man.” Wright says she and Spacey only knew each other between “action and cut.” She says they would giggle between scenes and he was always professional. “Star Trek: Discovery” actor Anthony Rapp in October accused Spacey of sexual misconduct when he was 14 and Spacey was 26. Spacey tweeted his “sincerest apology” for what he labeled drunken behavior. Spacey was fired from the Netflix series after several employees accused him of inappropriate behavior. More than 15 men have since made allegations against Spacey. The sixth and final season of “House of Cards” airs this fall.
ACTOR TAB HUNTER DEAD AT 86
UNDATED (AP) — Actor Tab Hunter, whose blond good looks made him a heartthrob for millions of teenage girls in the 1950s with such films as “Battle Cry” and “Damn Yankees!,” has died in Santa Barbara, California. He was 86. Producer and longtime partner Allan Glaser said Hunter died Sunday of a blood clot in his leg that caused cardiac arrest. Hunter had five years of intense fame. In addition to his hit movies, he tried his hand at singing and his recording of “Young Love” shot to No. 1 on the Billboard pop chart in 1957. But in his 2005 memoir, “Tab Hunter Confidential: The Making of a Movie Star,” Hunter recounted the stresses of being a love object to millions of young women when he was, in reality, a gay man.

NEW YORK (AP) — Small is big at the box office. The nation’s top movie over the weekend is “Ant-Man and the Wasp.” The latest in a series of Marvel titles took in $76 million in its debut weekend. And it continues a remarkable run for the comic-book based movies. “Ant-Man and the Wasp” is the 20th Marvel film released — and each them has made its debut at No. 1. It also is the third major blockbuster to come off Marvel-themed storyboards this year. The other two were “Black Panther” and “Avengers: Infinity War.”
Finishing second in the box office race: “Incredibles 2” with $29 million, followed by “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” ″The First Purge” and “Sicario: Day of the Soldado.”

MICK JAGGER - POLAND
WARSAW, Poland (AP) — You usually don’t think of the Rolling Stones as a politically active rock band. But that didn’t keep lead singer Mick Jagger from weighing in on a roiling political issue in Poland. News agencies in that country say Jagger spoke in Polish to fans at a concert in Warsaw yesterday. He said: “I am too old to be a judge but not too old to sing.” It’s a reference to planned judicial changes that would, among other things, set a maximum age of 65 for judges, forcing many to retire. Polish icon Lech Walesa wrote the group seeking a gesture of support for the judges. And it’s clear Jagger got the message.
CHRIS BROWN ARREST
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Chris Brown is being forced to face the music over a kerfuffle involving a nightclub photographer last year. He’s been arrested on a warrant accusing him of roughing up photographer Bennie Vines Jr., who says he was hired by a club in Tampa, Florida to take photos at an event Brown hosted in April, 2017. As he was making his shots, Vines says Brown took a shot of his own, punching him. Vines suffered a cut lip and filed charges. When Brown walked off the stage after a show late last week, he was arrested on a felony battery charge stemming from the incident. He posted $2,000 bail, was released — and continued his concert tour.
QUEEN LATIFAH - ESSENCE FESTIVAL
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — She first made her mark as a rapper. But Queen Latifah has proven over the decades that her musical skills go beyond spitting rhymes. She proved it again during her performance over the weekend at the Essence Festival in New Orleans. It was her first time there as a performer after 30 years in the music biz. And she showed why she has staying power. She was joined on stage by hip-hop stars MC Lyte, Yo-Yo, Salt-N-Pepa, Missy Elliott, Monie Love and Remy Ma. She also showed off her jazz chops on Phoebe Snow’s “Poetry Man.” Queen Latifah dedicated the song to her mom, who died earlier this year.
JANET JACKSON - ESSENCE FESTIVAL
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — There were four women who attended Janet Jackson performance at the Essence Music Festival who got their thrills long before she took the stage. The four, single mothers from the New Orleans area, got special attention from the pop star. They got their faces done by Jackson’s personal makeup artist — and scored tickets to concert, which closed out the Essence Festival last night. Others who performed last night included Fantasia and a New Jack Swing reunion featuring Teddy Riley, SWV, Blackstreet and Guy.
WONDER WOMAN GAL GADOT VISITS KIDS’ HOSPITAL
FALLS CHURCH, Va. (AP) — Movie star Gal Gadot surprised children at a Virginia hospital with a superpowered superhero moment: She visited them wearing her iconic Amazonian armor costume from the popular “Wonder Woman” film. Gadot doled out hugs, kisses, and autographs Friday at Inova Children’s Hospital in northern Virginia. She posed for photos with patients and staffers, and those started popping up on social media over the weekend. One mom, Kelly Sahady of Sterling, posted photos of Gadot holding her 7-month-old daughter and giving her a kiss. Sahady tells WUSA-TV her daughter, Karalyne, is fighting an aggressive form of pediatric cancer called acute myeloid leukemia. She says meeting Gadot was a fun break. Crews have been shooting “Wonder Woman 1984″ in the Washington region in recent weeks.
ELVIS COSTELLO BATTLES CANCER
LONDON (AP) — Elvis Costello has some medical advice for men: see your doctor if you have symptoms you might be concerned about. He has canceled the rest of his summer European tour because he has cancer. He’s had surgery for what he calls a “small but very aggressive” tumor. Costello, who is 63, says he thought he’d be back by now — but his body needs more time to heal. He promises to “return at the soonest opportunity.”
B-52S IN THE AGE OF “IDOL”
NEW YORK (AP) — The B-52s have been able to survive four decades in the music business. But they say they wouldn’t have survived long in the age of music competition shows. Singer Kate Pierson says if they were trying to break in now and were on a show like “The Voice,” they’d probably “get kicked off of the first episode.” The band has been part of the music scene since the late 1970s — and has relished their informal title of “the world’s greatest party band.”
TOM PETTY GUITAR TO BE AUCTIONED
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A 1965 Gibson SG electric guitar owned by Tom Petty will be auctioned, along with one of the late rocker’s top hats. Heritage Auctions says the auction will be held July 21. It says the guitar was played by Petty during his 1986 tour with Bob Dylan. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the guitar will benefit two Southern California charities, one helping the homeless the other an animal rescue organization. Petty died last October at 66.
