PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ Seka Edwards threw for two touchdowns and ran for a third to lead Lehigh past Pennsylvania 28-24 Saturday.

Edwards completed 20 of 36 passes for 248 yards, including touchdown passes of 54 and 21 yards to Deron Braswell as Lehigh (3-4) rallied from an early 14-0 deficit. Brain Baker ran for 139 yards on 26 carries.

Penn (2-3) closed to within 28-24 on Jeremiah Greathouse’s 37-yard field goal with 5:48 to play. But the Quakers started their last drive at their own 2-yard-line, and a fourth-and-15 play from their own 32 failed with 1:59 remaining.

The Quakers went ahead 7-0 in the first quarter on Steve Teodecki’s 15-yard pass to John James, then took a 14-0 lead on Tom MacLeod’s 4-yard pass to Travis Arbogast minutes later.

Lehigh scored a pair of touchdowns 12 seconds apart to tie the game in the second quarter. Edwards ran 15 yards for Lehigh’s first touchdown. On Penn’s first play after the kickoff, Tahir Rivers intercepted a Teodecki pass and returned it 27 yards for a score.

Lehigh took a 21-14 lead when Edwards hit Braswell from 54 yards out with 39 seconds left in the first half, capping a nine-play, 81-yard drive.

Penn tied it when Edwards fumbled a snap and Mark van Meter ran it back for a touchdown. But Edwards’ 21-yard pass to Braswell gave Lehigh the lead with for good midway through the third quarter.
