SEOUL, South Korea (AP) _ Canadian speedskaters won two long-track World Cup races Sunday, with Olympic champion Catriona Le May Doan capturing the women's 500 meters and Mike Ireland the men's 1,000.

Le May Doan won in 38.80 seconds. Eriko Sanmiya of Japan was second in 39.10 and Svetlana Zhurova of Russia was third in 39.18.

Ireland recorded his first international victory on the first stop of the World Cup long-track circuit.

He was timed in 1:11.62, followed by Olympic 1,500 champion Adne Sondral of Norway in 1:11.71 and Jeremy Wotherspoon of Canada in 1:11.80.

In the men's 500, Olympic champion Hiroyasu Shimizu of Japan won in 35.59. Ireland was second in 35.73 and Wotherspoon was third in 35.76.
