North Carolina SBI joins investigation into moped death

WINDSOR, N.C. (AP) — The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation has joined local law enforcement in looking into the death of a moped driver.
News outlets report the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to a scene in Powellsville around 9 p.m. last Saturday for a possible motor vehicle crash. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies determined at the scene that the moped driver didn’t die as a result of the crash.
No additional details were available. Neither the name of the victim nor the cause of death has been released.
