Trump policy on Syria a step in right direction
Thank you, President Trump, for finally doing the right thing, ordering the removal of all US troops from Syria and reducing the number of troops in Afghanistan. I did not vote for you because you crossed my red lines on torture, collective punishment and taking their oil, but I applaud this decision.
You are receiving a barrage of criticism from bipartisan war mongers who are trying to manipulate the public with emotional pleas about the poor, stateless Kurds and those evil, scary Russians. These war mongers are largely leftovers from prior presidencies that repeated the same mistakes over and over again, destabilizing several regions of the world, including the EU via the refugee crisis. But sane people don’t do the same thing over and over expecting different results. The war mongers care nothing for the Kurds, the Afghans or the Russian “threat.” They care only for the 3 Ps: profits for corporations, promotions for themselves, and pork for congressmen.
Three of the most recent mistakes were the fascist coup in the Ukraine leading to turmoil there, the overthrow of Muammar Gadafi that transformed the state with the highest standard of living in Africa into a failed state, and the infiltration of terrorist mercenaries from all over the world into Syria in an attempt to overthrow its government or balkanize it.
You have taken a huge stride toward ending one of three Obama foreign policy disasters and taken a small step toward ending one of Bush’s. Keep it up.
