Kremer Reaches Budapest Semis
BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) _ Anne Kremer of Luxembourg recovered from losing the first set and defeated qualifier Petra Mandula of Hungary to advance Friday to the semifinals of the $110,000 Budapest Open.
Kremer, seeded second here and ranked 32nd in the world, beat Mandula 2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4, and will play Aniko Kapros of Hungary. Kapros beat Emilie Loit of France 4-6, 6-1, 6-1.
Top-seeded Magdalena Maleeva of Bulgaria defeated unseeded Francesca Schiavone of Italy 6-2, 7-5, and will face unseeded Cristina Torrens-Valero of Spain. She beat compatriot Angeles Montolio, the fourth-seeded player, 6-1, 6-1.
