Man Arrested in Indecent Exposure Incident in Chelmsford
CHELMSFORD -- The search for the man accused of exposing himself to a woman at Walmart on Friday night ended with the arrest of a 29-year-old Chelmsford man, authorities say.
Jonathan J. Wentzell was charged with open and gross lewdness and lascivious behavior after being tracked down by police just before 6 p.m. Saturday, according to a Chelmsford Police Department press release.
“Thank you to all members of the public who submitted tips to help us identify the suspect,” Chelmsford Police Chief James Spinney stated in the release.
The woman who witnessed the allegedly vulgar display around 8:30 p.m. Friday immediately told a Walmart employee about the incident, police said.
The suspect fled the store before police arrival. However, his image was captured on surveillance footage at the Walmart on Parkhurst Road.
Wentzell was caught by police at Starbucks, at 101 Drum Hill Road, the release states. He is currently being held without bail pending arraignment Monday in Lowell District Court.
