Woman killed in officer-involved shooting in Ky.
GRAYSON, Ky. — The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred after a domestic disturbance around 11:23 p.m. Friday in Carter County.
According to a news release from KSP, Carter County 911 reported a physical altercation that had occurred on Damron Mayo Road involving a female suspect and a family member. Troopers responded but were unable to locate the suspect as she had fled the scene.
At approximately 1:38 a.m., troopers learned the suspect was back at the residence and was possibly carrying a firearm.
As troopers re-approached the home, the suspect confronted them, which resulted in law enforcement firing shots. The female subject was pronounced dead on location due to injuries she sustained from the shooting. Neither the suspect’s nor the involved troopers’ names had been released as of press time Saturday.
The investigation is ongoing by members of the Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team.
