LULA JANE FERRELL, 98, of Huntington, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, November 20, 2018. She was born November 14, 1920, in Mingo County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Hugh Johnson Ferrell and Esther Stepp Ferrell. Lula was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse, a master gardener, a committed Prayer Warrior and above all a devotedly loving Mother. She brightened and blessed the lives of all who knew her. She was a member of Jefferson Avenue Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Huff Ferrell; sisters, Mary Sabra Marcum, Sallie Farley and Straulie Pratt; brothers, Hugh Ferrell, Grover Ferrell, infant siblings Marion and Bryson Ferrell; and granddaughter, Lisa Dawn Shell. She is survived by one daughter, Ardoth Ferrell Rutherford of Barboursville, and three sons, Marvin Ferrell, Darrell Ferrell and Greg Ferrell, all of Huntington; grandchildren, Summer Rutherford Wilkes of Maryland, Michael Ferrell of Florida, Brandon and Nicholas Ferrell of Huntington, and Zachary Ferrell of Florida; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Charles Arden Wilkes of Maryland, Joshua Ferrell of Florida and Kee Shell of Florida; sister, Gracie Vernatter of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and brother-in-law, Paul Ray Farley of Chesapeake, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted at Henson and Kitchen Mortuary East Pea Ridge Road, Huntington, on Monday, November 26, at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Memorial Park, Milton. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, at Henson and Kitchen Mortuary.
