Dan Marino Hospital Center Opens
WESTON, Fla. (AP) _ A $3 million children’s medical center built with Dan Marino’s help will bear the name of the Miami Dolphins quarterback.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Tuesday for Miami Children’s Hospital Dan Marino Center, a comprehensive pediatric outpatient facility.
Marino’s 9-year-old son Michael is mildly autistic.
``When your child gets diagnosed with any kind of disorder or ailment, you don’t know where to turn,″ Marino said. ``Now, at the center, a whole team of medical professionals can diagnose and treat all under one roof.″
Funding for the center, just north of Miami, was spearheaded by the Dan Marino Foundation and Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation.
