Patricia L. Betourne

Patricia L. Betourne, 73, of Bourbonnais, and formerly of Kankakee, passed away Sunday (Sept. 23, 2018) at Bourbonnais Terrace Retirement and Assisted Living, Bourbonnais.

She was born Aug. 31, 1945, in Kankakee, the daughter of Glenn O. and Doris (Anderson) Betourne.

Patricia was a lifelong member of St.Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kankakee. As a young person, she was a Brownie, Girl Scout and 4-H member. One of the skits performed by her troop received a blue ribbon at the Kankakee County Fair and also at the Illinois State Fair. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds and was very good at oil paintings.

She attended Kankakee schools, graduating from Kankakee High School in 1963. She worked as a licensed hairdresser for several years in Kankakee and had worked at Knott’s Berry Farm in California, which she enjoyed very much, as well as traveling with her family on many vacation trips. She also helped care for her younger sister for many years.

Surviving are her sisters, Julie A. Palmer, of Bradley, and Christine J. Betourne, of Kankakee; brother, Glenn A. (Connie) Betourne, of Indianapolis, Ind.; nieces, Julie A. (Paul) Laue, of Kankakee, and Katie (Lee) Thompson, of Indianapolis, Ind.; nephews, Gordon G. (Stacy) Palmer, of Bourbonnais, John F. (Kristine) Palmer, of Bourbonnais, and Andrew (Trudy) Betourne, of Floyds Knobs, Ind.; great-nieces, Carrie Palmer, of Kankakee, Emma Palmer and Isabella Palmer, of Bourbonnais, and Macy Thompson, of Indianapolis, Ind.; and great-nephews, David Palmer, of Kankakee, Ryan Palmer, of Bourbonnais, Lucas Thompson, of Indianapolis, Ind., and Knox, Brooks and Rush Betourne, of Floyds Knobs, Ind.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother-in-law, Gordon F. Palmer; and her grandparents.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Schreffler Funeral Homes, Kankakee Chapel, with the Rev. Karl Koeppen of St. Paul’s officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Grove Gardens in Kankakee.
