Ecuador beats Bolivia 4-0 in friendly
FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida (AP) — Ecuador dominated Bolivia 4-0 in a friendly on Saturday, its first match since former coach Reinaldo Rueda’s sacking following a disappointing World Cup campaign.
Christian Noboa opened the scoring in the ninth minute for Ecuador, firing a shot that went off the hands of Bolivia keeper Daniel Vaca and rolled in.
Ecuador made it 2-0 when Juan Cazares curled a shot into the net from 25 yards out in the 33rd minute.
Enner Valencia and Junior Sornoza added two more goals in the second half.
Sixto Vizuete has replaced Rueda as Ecuador’s interim coach on a short-term contract until January. Ecuador failed to advance from the group stage at the World Cup, beating Honduras but losing to Switzerland and drawing with France.
Ecuador plays Brazil on Tuesday in New Jersey.
