Woman struck, killed by train in Newton County.
A woman from Orange was killed Sunday night when she was struck by a Kansas City Southern train in Hartburg, the Newton County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Kansas City Southern called the sheriff’s office at 11:05 p.m. to report a woman “jogging” on the tracks just east of County Road 4181 had been struck.
The conductor repeatedly sounded the train’s horn in warning, but the woman did not move, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Autopsy results are pending for the victim, Amanda Lynn Burns, 37.
