SAXTONS RIVER, Vt. (AP) — Vermont State Police are investigating a string of six burglaries that struck a Vermont village over the weekend.

Police say six homes in Saxtons River were broken into early Sunday and all the homes were occupied. WCAX-TV reports homeowners lost items like wallets, pocket books and computers.

Vermont State Police spokesman Adam Silverman says the two suspects were men wearing dark clothing, and one of them apparently brought a dog.

Village resident Ned Mortensen says the string of burglaries has everyone alarmed.

State police officials say they will increase patrols in the area while continuing the investigation.
