Joan Lunden Breaks Shoulder in Riding Accident

GREENWICH, Conn. (AP) _ Joan Lunden, host of ABC’s ″Good Morning America,″ broke her left shoulder Thursday while training for a horse-riding competition, her publicist said.

Lunden, riding a horse called Desert Storm, was thrown off while attempting to clear a 3 1/2 -foot barrier.

She planned to appear on Friday morning’s ″Good Morning America″ segment with her arm in a sling, said the publicist, Stan Rosenfield. She was already scheduled to take next week off, Rosenfield said.

Lunden was preparing for Sunday’s Hampton Classic on New York’s Long Island.
