MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ Signature Sports Group golf management company has been acquired by live entertainment producer SFX and will become part of SFX Golf, the companies said Tuesday.

Terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition will bolster SFX's position in golf event management, professional golfer representation and golf marketing.

Jim Lehman, former head of Signature Sports, will become a senior executive in SFX Golf and will continue to operate out of Minneapolis.

Signature Sports, founded in 1994, manages more than 30 golfers on the professional golf tours, including Tom Lehman, who is ranked 18th on the PGA Tour's 2001 money list.

Other Signature Sports clients include Larry Mize, Scott Simpson, Tim Herron, Rosie Jones, Cristie Kerr and Chris Perry. SFX Golf clients include Greg Norman, John Daly, Scott Hoch, Scott Verplank and Roger Maltbie.

``Acquiring Signature Sports Group significantly enhances our golf brand and allows us to continue growing our business globally,'' said John Mascatello, senior vice president of SFX Golf.

``We believe this new relationship will allow our tournaments division to grow, as well as further develop the scope of our events,'' Lehman said.
