31 face drug charges in western Tennessee; arrests made
RIPLEY, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities say 23 people are in custody after they were hit with drug-related charges in rural western Tennessee.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Monday that 31 people have been indicted in Ripley after an investigation that took nearly a year.
The TBI says 19 were arrested during a roundup in Ripley, and four others already were jailed when they were indicted.
The TBI says crack cocaine, methamphetamine and illegal prescription pills were purchased during an investigation conducted by the Ripley Police Department, the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, a West Tennessee drug task force and the state police bureau.
Charges include delivery of cocaine, hydrocodone and meth.
Those arrested were taken to the Lauderdale County Jail.
