Pete Buttigieg shuts down political action committee
Presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg on Tuesday shut down a political action committee he had launched in 2017, as much of the 2020 Democratic field has vowed to reject support from outside political groups.
In a termination report filed Tuesday, the Hitting Home PAC reported raising almost $6,000 in 2019.
A spokesman for the Buttigieg campaign told CNBC they had been winding down the group for some time.
The South Bend, Indiana, mayor had launched the group in 2017 after his unsuccessful run for chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
Many 2020 Democratic presidential candidates have already sworn off corporate PAC money and rejected support from super PACs.
