HUNTINGTON — For the majority of students at Marshall University, they have always lived in a world influenced by the magic of “Harry Potter.”

On Tuesday, the Marshall Bookstore in the Memorial Student Center celebrated the 20th anniversary of the “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” release with a party in the store. The event offered games, a photo booth fashioned like Azkaban wanted posters and prizes. Students had the chance to win a $25 gift card to the bookstore and winter apparel was 25 percent off.

Despite it being 20 years since the first book release, Potterheads — what some “Harry Potter” fans call themselves — continue to grow. Events continue to pop up about the wizarding world, with Ironton wrapping up its first Wizardfest this past weekend.
