WVC GIRLS LACROSSE ROUNDUP: Dallas Drops Defensive Battle

In a defensive battle, Dallas (9-7, 5-5 WVC) came up short at home Thursday, falling to Abington Heights, 4-3.

Lauren Delamater scored all three Dallas goals. Bailey Slacktish made nine saves.

Brennan Tates scored a pair of the Comets’ (6-5, 5-5) goals. Sidney Horvath made six saves.

At Delaware Valley, Isabella Fasulo’s goal with 5:01 remaining turned out to be the winner, as Warriors goalie Emily Ocasio then put the final touches on an 18-save performance in a battle of top WVC teams.

Bailey Fedun led Del Val (9-5, 7-1) with with six goals. Miranda Murray scored three.

Kate Roberts’ four goals led the Black Knights (12-3, 8-2), who trailed 9-7 at halftime and scored three straight to tie the game at 10 with 7:52 to play. Samantha Aben, Jess Evans and Ava Radel all had two goals.

Kerry McGrath broke Scranton Prep’s all-time goals record with the 104th of her career, highlighting the home team’s largest win this season.

Elisa Kopicki’s hat trick topped five multi-goal scorers for the Classics (8-2, 7-2), who have now won three straight.

Erin Weaver found the net for the Tigers (1-10, 0-10).

Jordyn McDonough scored for North Pocono (1-9, 0-9).

The Warriors built up an 11-1 halftime lead at home and cruised to the win.

Emma Kelleher scored five goals to lead Wyoming Area (9-2, 8-2) with Cassidy Orzel right behind her with four. Sydney Maguire had a team-best three assists.

For Pittston Area (2-9, 2-9), Julia Emmett scored three and Lily Savoy 2. Brooklyn Pedana made 22 saves in goal.

At Coughlin, Jolene Ulichney and Elizabeth Livingston scored four goals, Abie Sorokas and Ali Tedik added three apiece, and the Crusaders (4-5, 4-5) cruised to victory.

Raven Bozek made 16 saves in the win, while Hazleton Area’s goalkeeper Abby Bellas had 14 saves. Riley Hudock led the Cougars (2-8, 2-7) with four goals.
