ALCOHOL TAX-ANCHORAGE

ANCHORAGE _ A proposal to set a 5-percent sales tax on alcohol to fund services that address homelessness and substance abuse will go before Anchorage voters next year. SENT: 130 words. UPCOMING: 300 words by noon.

_ THEFT SENTENCE _ A 26-year-old North Pole man convicted of stealing guns, coins and jewelry from a home was ordered to pay more than $100,000 in restitution.

_ KETCHIKAN ASSAULT-SENTENCE _ A Ketchikan man who authorities say bashed a woman’s head into a car door before running over her foot was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
