Parks ready to bloom with music
Musical plans continue to hit high notes for Rochester parks.
The Greater Rochester Arts and Cultural Trust will launch a two-year pilot program in July with a concert series in three Rochester community parks.
It’s part of a growing effort to encourage performances in city parks.
“It was an idea that had been germinating, but we had a lot of other things going on,” said Bari Amadio, CEO of the Greater Rochester Arts and Cultural Trust, noting it took four years to get plans and resources in place.
“When we do something, we want to get it right,” she added.
The new pilot program will join a similar effort by Rochester’s Music Department, which has announced summer concerts are planned for Cooke Park, Lincolnshire Park and Withers Sports Complex.
