PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) _ Craig Griffey, Ken Griffey Jr.'s younger brother, and Mac Suzuki, who pitched in only 10 minor-league games last season, were among five players cut by the Seattle Mariners today.

Suzuki, a right-hander who had an 18.00 ERA in three games and three innings this spring, was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma along with left-hander Sal Urso and catcher Raul Ibanez.

Suzuki was bothered by tendinitis in his right elbow and shoulder last season.

Griffey was re-assigned to the Mariners' minor-league camp. He hit only .177 in 96 games at Double-A Port City last season.

Right-hander Dean Crow was optioned to Port City.
