Kaelin Gives Timeline for Night of Murders
Key times on June 12, 1994, outlined Wednesday in Brian ``Kato″ Kaelin’s testimony at O.J. Simpson’s murder trial:
_Sometime in the afternoon, at Simpson’s home, Kaelin and Simpson talk by phone to Kaelin’s friend, Tracy Adell.
_About 3:30 or 4 p.m., Kaelin leaves to play basketball; returns at 6 p.m.
_About 6:30 p.m. or 7 p.m., while watching television in his room, Kaelin hears Simpson call for him and the two talk in Simpson’s kitchen nook. Kaelin asks permission to sit in the Jacuzzi.
_About 7:30 or 7:45 p.m. until about 8:30 p.m., Kaelin is in Jacuzzi. He then goes to his room and calls friend Susan.
_At 9:03 p.m., Kaelin calls friend Tom O’Brien in San Diego. During the eight-minute call, Simpson comes to Kaelin’s room and tells him he’s left the Jacuzzi on. Simpson, who says he has nothing smaller than $100 bills, borrows $20 from Kaelin.
_About 9:10 p.m., they leave for McDonald’s in Simpson’s Bentley.
_At 9:37 p.m., a couple of minutes after returning, Kaelin goes to his room and calls O’Brien again. Kaelin says he last sees Simpson standing at the door of the car.
_About 10:40 or 10:45 p.m., while talking by phone with friend Rachel Ferrara, Kaelin hears three thumps on wall.
_Moments later, he goes outside to investigate the noise and sees a limousine waiting for Simpson. After flashing the beam of his small flashlight toward the spot where he’s heard the thumps, Kaelin sees Simpson outside by limo.
_Limo leaves for airport about 11:15 p.m.
