Richard D. Robak Sr., 82, of Duncan died Oct. 8, 2018, at Good Samaritan Society in Osceola.

Mass of Christian Burial is being held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Duncan. Visitation is being held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus and continues from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday leading up to the service at the church. A 7 p.m. vigil is being held Thursday at McKown Funeral Home. Burial is being held at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Duncan.

Richard D. Robak, Sr. was born June 3, 1936, in Columbus to Peter and Theodosia (Szewczyk) Robak. He graduated from Duncan High School in 1954 and married Shirley Slade on July 9, 1956, at St. Bonaventure Church. They lived in Duncan where he worked for Behlen Manufacturing for 55 years until retirement. Richard enjoyed fishing and watching his son-in-law, grandsons and granddaughter race stock cars. He also enjoyed gardening and yardwork.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Robak of Duncan, son Richard Robak Jr. of Columbus,

daughter Karen (Mike “Heavy”) Smith of Osceola, daughter Paula (Mark “Cubby”) Fluckiger of Duncan,

son Jeff Robak of Columbus, son Brad Robak of Duncan, daughter Erin (Mike) Marushak of David City,

14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren with two on the way, sister Kathleen (Edwin) Schacher of Duncan, brother Jim Robak of Colorado; and brother Patrick “Peko” Robak of Duncan.

He was preceded by his parents, Peter and Theodosia Robak, brother Paul Robak and nephew Mike Schacher
