IRONTON — A nine-woman, three-man jury returned an aggravated murder verdict Wednesday night in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

James W. Moore, 50, of Township Road 252, Ironton, was convicted of the fatal shooting of Homer F. Crank, 43, last Aug. 27 in the driveway of Moore’s home.

Judge Christen Finley presided over the trial.

Brigham Anderson, county prosecuting attorney, said the jury deliberated 3 1/2 hours Wednesday afternoon and evening before finding Moore guilty of aggravated murder and tampering with evidence.

Finley set final sentencing in the case for 2 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at the courthouse in Ironton.
