Feb. 18, 2017
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A man has been sentenced to 20 to 48 years in the shooting death of his mother in north Philadelphia four days after Christmas in 2013.
The Philadelphia Inquirer (http://bit.ly/2kzmo6m ) reports that 25-year-old Keenan McIntosh pleaded guilty Friday to third-degree murder and aggravated assault in the death of 50-year-old Patrice McIntosh in their Logan home. Other charges were dropped by prosecutors as part of the plea agreement.
Police said officers responded to a domestic disturbance report on the morning of Dec. 29, 2013 and an officer wrestled with the armed defendant on the porch before backup officers helped subdue him. The victim was found shot in the head in the master bedroom. Trial was delayed for almost two years after the defendant was found incompetent for the proceedings.
