TREY BLY, Charlotte Myers Park, DB, Sr., 5-8, 160 _ Had 49 tackles, seven interceptions and two tackles for loss. Finished career with 16 interceptions. Committed to Charlotte.

DANIEL CARTER, North Lincoln, DB/RB, Jr. _ Had 99 tackles, three tackles for loss, five interceptions, six pass deflections, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Blocked a punt. Also had five offensive touchdowns.

JACOB CLINE, North Lincoln, DB, Jr. _ Had 78 tackles, five tackles for loss, seven interceptions and one fumble recovery. Scored a touchdown.

TONY DAVIS, Gastonia Huss, DB, Sr. _ Had 45 tackles. Also caught 24 passes for 696 yards and six touchdowns. Shrine Bowl pick. Committed to Duke.

ZYONE EASTERLING, Mint Hill Rocky River, DB, Sr., 5-11, 175 _ Had 62 tackles, 13 breakups, two forced fumbles and one interception in seven games. Three-time all-conference pick. Committed to Wingate.

OBI EGBUNA, Charlotte Christian, DB, Sr., 5-11, 180 _ Had 41 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks and five interceptions. Returned one interception for a touchdown. Blocked two field goals, returning one for a touchdown. Signed with UNC.

LUKE ELLENBERGER, Brevard, DB/ATH/WR, Sr. _ On defense, had 116 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, five interceptions, seven passes defended and a blocked kick. On offense, had 57 catches for 965 yards and 10 touchdowns. Also returned eight kickoffs for 269 yards (33.6 average) and 10 punts for 118 yards. All-conference and all-area pick. Committed to Coastal Carolina.

TYUS FIELDS, Charlotte Hough, DB, Sr., 5-10, 185 _ Had 42 tackles with four tackles for loss. Had two interceptions with 12 breakups. School’s No. 2 all-time tackler (195) and all-time leader among DBs. AP all-state pick last year. Committed to Tennessee.

JALEN FRAZIER, Charlotte Hough, DB, Sr., 5-10, 180 _ Had 62 tackles and six tackles for loss. Had two interceptions and eight breakups. Committed to N.C. State.

FISHER FURR, Mt. Pleasant, DB/WR, Sr., 6-0, 175 _ Had 57 tackles, 20 deflections and three interceptions. Also had 14 catches for 289 yards and four touchdowns.

JEREMIAH GRAY, Charlotte Christian, DB, Sr., 6-2, 200 _ Had 55 tackles, two tackles for loss and three interceptions. Returned a blocked field goal for a 75-yard touchdown. Committed to Wake Forest.

DEMARCUS GRIFFIN, Charlotte Olympic, DB, 5-9, 170 _ Had 26 tackles, three tackles for loss, two interceptions and nine breakups. All-conference pick. Has 24 Division I offers.

JAYLEN GULLATTE, Charlotte Vance, DB, Jr., 5-10, 180 _ Had 51 tackles and three interceptions. Also had 13 breakups as team’s lockdown corner. Division I recruit.

D’MARCUS HARRINGTON, Richmond County, DB, Jr., 6-0, 168 _ Had 32 tackles with nine breakups. Was team’s top cover cornerback and played man coverage alone most of the year. Only gave up five catches in man coverage once league play started.

JAKOBE HARRIS, Southwest Guilford, DB, Sr., 5-9, 195 _ Had 11 interceptions and returned four for touchdowns. All-conference pick. HSXtra.com all-area pick.

TRIPP HARRIS, Brevard, DB, Jr., 5-6, 145 _ Had 79 tackles, three tackles for loss, eight interceptions, 10 passes defended, one fumble recovery and one defensive touchdown. All-conference pick.

SEAN HILL, Mooresville, FS, Sr., 6-2, 190 _ Had four interceptions, 21 pass breakups, 61 tackles, (31 solo) and five tackles for loss. All-conference pick. Weighing several college offers and is projected by his coach to play at the FCS level.

GABE JEUDY, Charlotte Ardrey Kell, DB, Sr., 6-2, 175 _ Had 60 tackles, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, three interceptions and 12 breakups. All-conference pick. Vanderbilt recruit.

CALVIN JONES, East Rutherford, WR/RB, Jr., 5-10, 170 _ Had 77 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, eight interceptions. Scored two defensive touchdowns, giving him 14 on the season. On offense, had 683 yards rushing for 10 scores. Also had 16 catches for 308 yards and two touchdowns. Had 1,259 all-purpose yards.

ISAIAH KEMP, Wilmington Hoggard, CB, Sr., 6-2, 175 _ Had 27 tackles and didn’t have an interception with teams being hesitant to throw to his side of the field. Returned a punt for a touchdown. Ranked as No. 4 cornerback in the state by 247sports. Committed to Duke.

DEVON KING, Belmont South Point, DB, Jr., 6-0, 180 _ Had 69 tackles, three tackles for loss and one interception. Two-time all-conference pick who also had 26 yards rushing, 117 yards receiving and 121 kick return yards.

MARQUI LOWERY, Charlotte Vance, DB, Jr., 6-0, 175 _ Had 46 tackles with two interceptions. Lanky frame with excellent coverage skills as a CB. Has good size and speed. Has offers, including from Coastal Carolina.

CAM MADDOX, Indian Trail Sun Valley, DB, 6-3, 200 _ Had 45 tackles, one fumble return for a touchdown. Had two blocked field goals and one interception. Committed to Harvard.

XAVIER MARSHALL, Charlotte Vance, DB, Sr., 6-1, 205 _ Had eight interceptions, six with him wearing a cast. Hard-hitter with strong leadership. Had 83 tackles while forcing three fumbles. Captain with 3.8 GPA. Has offers from Campbell, Gardner-Webb and Richmond.

KHALID MARTIN, East Forsyth, DB, Sr., 6-1, 205 _ See player of year nominations.

JA’QUAN McMILLIAN, West Forsyth, DB, Sr., 5-11, 175 _ Had 43 tackles, two interceptions, three tackles for loss, one forced fumble. All-conference and Shrine Bowl pick. Signed with East Carolina.

JAHEIM MULLEN, Gastonia Huss, DB, Sr. _ Had 73 tackles and 10 interceptions. Also caught 33 passes for 779 yards and 10 touchdowns.

MASON STREPPA, Morganton Patton, FS, Sr., 6-0, 180 _ Had 121 tackles with six interceptions, four fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles, five pass breakups and two tackles for loss. Conference defensive player of the year. All-conference pick. Led county in tackles and interceptions for the second straight year. Also led county in fumble recoveries and forced fumbles.

JAYDEN WADDELL, East Rutherford, WR/QB/CB, Sr., 6-2, 175 _ Had 38 tackles and five interceptions. On offense, had 568 yards rushing with 13 touchdowns. Also had 17 receptions with 335 yards and five scores. Finished with 1,201 all-purpose yards. Has three college offers.

WILLIAM “JR” WALKER, Clayton, DB, Sr., 6-1, 198 _ Had 38 tackles and an interception. Team MVP at Shrine Bowl. AP all-state pick last year. Committed to Virginia Tech.

J’TRELL WASHINGTON, Charlotte Mallard Creek, DB, Jr., 5-10, 175 _ Had 70 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, one sack, two fumble recoveries, 12 breakups. All-conference pick.

WILLIAM WATTS, North Mecklenburg, DB, Sr., 5-11, 160 _ Had five interceptions and was team’s No. 2 tackler. Had 24 catches for 398 yards and five touchdowns on offense.

BEN WILLIAMS, Charlotte Christian, DB/RB, Sr., 5-11, 185 _ Had 44 tackles, two interceptions and one forced fumble. Returned five kickoffs for 112 yards. Also had 80 carries for 623 yards and 12 touchdowns. Had a TD catch. Finished with 916 all-purpose yards.

GARRETT WILLIAMS, Harrisburg Hickory Ridge, DB, Sr., 6-0, 180 _ Had 42 tackles, seven tackles for loss, one sack, 14 breakups, one fumble recovery, two interceptions. Had a touchdown. Teams completed 11 percent of passes thrown in his direction. Rated one of the top 15 players in the state. Signed with Syracuse. Had offers that included UNC, West Virginia and Maryland.

LANNDEN ZANDERS, Shelby Crest, FS, 6-1, 195 _ Had 51 tackles and five interceptions, returning two for touchdowns. Recovered a fumble. Also ran for a score. Had 545 yards receiving with eight touchdown catches. All-conference pick. Committed to Clemson.
