October 7, 2018

NEEDLES — It was a doubleheader win for the Needles High School Lady ’Stangs as they defeated the Calvary Chapel Lady Lions on Oct. 5 in The Corral.

The scores of the NIAA 2A South League doubleheader were: 25-18 and 25-10 in the first match and 25-19 and 25-19 in the second match. The doubleheader win gives the Lady ’Stangs an overall record of 5-4 and a league record of 4-3.

“We talked about coverage a lot and they started not so well and as the game went on they got better and more comfortable,” said Patricia Phelps Lady ’Stangs head coach. “Our anticipation is getting better but we still have a little way to go to get where we want to be. So all this week we practice on our movement and that helped us get the win today.”

The Lady ’Stangs travel on Tuesday, Oct. 9 to take on the Adelson Lady Lions in the doubleheader starting at 3 and 4 p.m. for junior varsity and 5 and 6 p.m. for varsity. Then the Lady ’Stangs are back home for their homecoming game on Friday, Oct. 12 in The Corral against Lake Mead Lady Eagles starting at 4 p.m for junior varsity and 5 p.m. for varsity.
