Gerald ‘Jerry’ Kirchman

Gerald E. “Jerry” Kirchman, 84, of Bourbonnais, passed away Saturday (March 16, 2019) at his home.

He was born July 9, 1934, in Kankakee, the son of Edward A. and Anne Marie (Cieryca) Kirchman. Jerry married Lois Provost on July 14, 1956, at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Kankakee.

Jerry retired from American Cylinder in Peotone. He also had worked at A.O. Smith for 33 years. Jerry recently was honored as a lifetime member of the Bradley Bourbonnais Sportsmen’s Club.

He enjoyed woodcarving, oil painting and fishing.

Jerry was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was an active parishioner for more than 60 years at Maternity B.V.M. Catholic Church in Bourbonnais, where he served as a church lector and food pantry volunteer.

Surviving are his wife, Lois Kirchman, of Bourbonnais; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dale Kirchman, of Bourbonnais, Matthew and Jennifer Kirchman, of Salem, Mass., and Jeremy and Laurie Kirchman, of Albany, N.Y.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Valerie and Dan Guenette, of Bourbonnais, Catherine Jackson, of Shawnee, Kan., and Michelle and Kelly Frank, of River Forest; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, at Maternity B.V.M. Catholic Church in Bourbonnais. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery in Bourbonnais.

Memorials may be made to Maternity B.V.M. Catholic Church or Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
