St. Louis teen shot dead in Cahokia
CAHOKIA, Ill. (AP) — Investigators in southern Illinois say the victim of a shooting in Cahokia (kuh-HOH’-kee-uh) is a 17-year-old from St. Louis, Mo.
The Belleville News-Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/1k4Bydt) that authorities identified the victim of the Monday shooting as Allen S. Templeton. Lt. James Cavins of the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis says Templeton was killed at the Pheasant Hill Mobile Home Park.
Police say he was shot in the head and neck. An autopsy is planned for Tuesday. Authorities say they have no suspect or motive in the killing.
Officials say the death is Cahokia’s first homicide in 2013. It is a village of about 15,000 residents in St. Clair County.
