Packnett named Sagamore of Wabash
Mike Packnett, Parkview Health’s president and CEO, on Friday was named a Sagamore of the Wabash, Indiana’s highest civilian honor.
Gov. Eric Holcomb approved the award, which was presented to Packnett by Dave Haist, chairman of Parkview Health’s board of directors, and John Sampson, president and CEO of the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership.
The Sagamore of the Wabash is given to exemplary Hoosiers in recognition of their distinguished statewide service.
“Reflecting true servant leadership, Mike is ‘all in’ in his service and leadership to Parkview and Northeast Indiana,” Sampson said. “His personal commitment to excellence in the health and well-being of patients and communities has positioned Parkview Health as a distinguished leader in the economic growth and quality of place of Fort Wayne and our region.”
Packnett serves on several boards in the region including Greater Fort Wayne Inc., the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, the Regional Chamber of Northeast Indiana, Manchester University, Global Leadership Summit, Central Indiana Corporate Partnership and the Indiana Hospital Association. He is also on the American Hospital Association Regional Policy board of directors.
Packnett earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Oklahoma and a master’s degree in hospital administration from the University of Minnesota.
