Man sentenced to 15 years for crash that killed 1, injured 3
DENVER (AP) — A man found guilty of vehicular homicide while driving drunk has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
KUSA-TV reports that Ah Jung was sentenced Feb. 16 for killing 85-year-old Howard Hanson and injuring three others with his car in December 2015.
The First Judicial District Attorney’s news release says Jung and three friends had been drinking at a friend’s house in Aurora before driving to the Black Hawk casinos.
The release says Jung lost control of the car and slid into oncoming traffic, causing a collision with the vehicle Hanson was in. The other driver, 78-year-old Karen Hanson, was seriously injured.
A jury in December found Jung guilty of vehicular homicide-DUI, four counts of vehicular assault-DUI and DUI. His blood-alcohol concentration was almost three times the legal limit.
