Genoa Lions Club collecting burned-out Christmas lights

November 15, 2018

GENOA – Putting up the tree already? Don’t throw out that string of lights that won’t light up anymore. Same goes for the one with the burnt-out bulb or two that won’t meet your cut. The Genoa Lions Club wants to help you recycle them.

According to a news release from the club, starting Monday, big red cans will be at Drew Kuhn’s Christmas Tree stand in front of the Masonic Temple, 130 state Route 23, Tobinson’s Ace Hardware, 361 Sycamore Road, Faith United Methodist Church, 325 S. Stott St., and City Hall, 333 E. First St. The cans will be at the sites through the end of the year.

Don’t stop at the light strings, though. You can also bring your old keys, eyeglasses, cellphones, hearing aids and some printer cartridges.
