Blood drive in honor of Norfolk girl battling leukemia

December 4, 2018

NORFOLK - The American Red Cross is encouraging you to give blood tomorrow Tuesday at Norfolk Catholic high school in honor of Khloe Papousek.

Khloe is a spunky 5-year-old Norfolk girl who has spent the last two and a half years battling leukemia.

As part of her treatment she has received numerous blood and platelet transfusions.

Communication Manager Samantha Pollard says Khloe’s case is a reminder of why it’s so important to give blood.

“Blood is needed for people other than car accident victims. There are people like Khloe who are going through cancer treatment that need blood on an ongoing basis to be able to get through their treatment.”

The blood drive will be Tuesday from 7:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. at Norfolk Catholic high school.
