Parker Bohn III Regains Top Spot

KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) _ Parker Bohn III regained the top spot with a strong third round at the Track Synergy Open at Celebrity Bowl.

The Jackson, N.J., native averaged 241.72 for 18 games to assume the top spot heading into match play Wednesday. Bohn has won 11 career titles and is looking for his second television appearance of the year. The 32-year-old had a 4,351 pinfall total in qualifying.

Brian LeClair of Hudson, N.Y., is second with a 4,287 pinfall total. The right-hander is looking for his first title and averaged 238.17 in qualifying.

Steve Wilson, who led after two rounds of qualifying, is in third. The Tamarac, Fla., native is averaging 237.78 with a 4,280 pinfall total.

Dave DEntremont of Middleburg Heights, Ohio, is fourth with a 237.39 average. The right-hander has a 4,273 pinfall total, only eight pins short of Wilson. DEntremont has four career titles.

Eugene McCune, in fifth place, is the third member of the top five looking for his first PBA title. The Munster, Ind., resident is averaging 234.17 with a 4,215 pinfall total.

Tommy Delutz Jr. of Jamaica, N.Y., and Philip Ringener of Big Spring, Texas, are in sixth and seventh respectively.

The 143-man field was trimmed to the top 24 for the first eight games of match play Wednesday night, followed by 16 more on Thursday.

The top five advance to the national televised finals Friday at the Tri-Cities Coliseum, the first PBA arena finals of the year.
