Downtown has new, artsy breakfast, lunch spot
The St. Anthony hotel has opened a new breakfast and lunch restaurant inside the atrium space that overlooks Travis Park, and it’s called Gallery On the Park.
The restaurant debuted a breakfast and lunch menu developed by executive chef John Zaner that features food sourced from local farms and ranches. Highlighted breakfast offerings include a house-smoked salmon dish, brisket hash omelet and a bananas foster waffle.
Lunch features a New York strip BLT, Wagyu beef burger, charcuterie board and a lineup of small plates that include Dr Pepper-braised pork belly and bacon- and ricotta-stuffed figs. Most menu items are priced between $10 and $20. Plans call for dinner service later in the year.
“As we’re part of a hotel that was established by Texas’ great cattle barons, it’s only fitting that our culinary focus be on the most delicious faces of Texas-centric cuisine,” said Mark Yanke, president and managing director of the St. Anthony, in a news release.
Staying true to its name, art pairs with the food at Gallery On the Park, with sculptures, paintings and tapestries creatively displayed throughout the space, many created by local artists.
