DAR Honors Outstanding Teacher
The Wyoming Valley Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, recently honored Clark Switzer as the chapter winner of the DAR Outstanding Teacher of American History Award. Switzer is a teacher at the Wyoming Seminary Lower School where he serves as the chairman of the Social Studies Department and teacher of eighth grade American history classes. In addition to teaching, he has produced documentaries about Wyoming Valley history and authored an online local history textbook, Scratching the Surface, which is available to the public. He is active with the Luzerne County Historical Society and serves as a lecturer and presenter on local history topics.
