Safety fair Saturday at Hualapai Mountain Resort
KINGMAN — Booths and exhibits will be on display at the Hualapai Mountain Resort for the second annual Hualapai Moutain Safety Fair.
The fair is Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The Hualapai Moutain Resort is at 4525 Hualapai Mountain Road, southeast of Kingman.
According to Mohave County, multiple local, state and federal public safety agencies are partnering with the Hualapai Mountain Lodge in order to make the fair possible.
At the booths and exhibits, there will be public education specialists who will be providing information on wildfire safety and disaster preparedness.
The county stated that much of the information will tie in with the Arizona Ready, Set, Go campaign to educate residents on wildfire mitigation measures and the importance of maintaining readiness to evacuate.
The Ready, Set, Go campaign is a nationwide program adopted by the 15 Arizona sheriffs to educate residents about proactive measures to take before an emergency and actions to follow when communities are threatened. The program’s three tenets encourage Arizonans to get ready by preparing now for what threatens their community, be set by maintaining awareness of significant danger, and to go by evacuating immediately when the danger is current and life-threatening.
The fair is open to all ages of the public and the county encourages bringing the whole family for a day of education and fun.
