No arrests made in SWAT standoff in Cleveland; armed suspect was no longer in home, police say

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A SWAT standoff ended late Saturday in Cleveland without any arrests being made because investigators determined an armed man left the home he broke into, police said.

The standoff began about 8 p.m. at a home on Telford Avenue, in the city’s Lee-Miles neighborhood. A SWAT team was called in because police received a report of an armed man who broke into a home.

The SWAT team cleared the scene by 11 p.m.

No Cleveland police officers remained at the scene about 11 p.m.

A Cleveland police spokesman could not say if anyone was hurt. He also could not say whether anyone other than the armed man was inside the home during the standoff.

No additional details were released late Saturday.
