Diane Locke, 63, Horicon

December 18, 2018

Diane Marie Locke, 63, Horicon, died peacefully Dec. 15, 2018, surrounded by family at her home following a long battle with ovarian cancer.

Diane was born Oct. 27, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, to William and Ruth (Potts) Koehler. She grew up in Detroit, and graduated from Denby High School in 1973. On Nov. 17, 1973, Diane was united in marriage to Rickey “Rick” Locke at Community Baptist Church in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. The couple were blessed with three children: Theresa, James and John. Diane enjoyed the ability to raise her children, and worked for a period of time as a teacher’s aide at Van Brunt Elementary School in Horicon, and at Shopko in Beaver Dam.

Diane loved spending time with her family and truly adored her grandkids. She always tried to put others’ needs before hers, even while struggling with her cancer treatments. Diane was a dedicated blood donor. She enjoyed sewing and crafting, sending cards to people, going on trips with her friends, and was very involved with the Friends of the Horicon Public Library. She attended church at Grace Hill Fellowship in Juneau.

Diane will remain in the hearts of her children, Theresa (Jon) Aron, James (Shelley), and John (Jennifer); grandchildren, Cameron and Caroline Aron, Alex and Lauren Locke; brother, William Koehler; brother-in-law, Jeffery Wilson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 45 years, Rick; parents, William (Arlyle) Koehler and Ruth (Herbert) Webb; and sister, Leisa Wilson.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Diane’s life will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam.
