Police: Boyfriend held on attempted murder charge after woman ends relationship
A man was held on attempted murder, aggravated battery and domestic battery charges after stabbing a woman who told him she wanted to end their relationship, the DeKalb County sheriff’s department said today.
The woman called police Saturday to report that she had been stabbed by her boyfriend. the sheriff’s department said in a statement. Police said they found the victim outside her home suffering from a laceration to the neck and chest.
The woman told police that she told the man, Daniel L. Snow, 45, that she wanted to end their relationship, and that Snow had threatened to kill himself and her animals.
When the woman attempted to call police, Snow took her phone and cut her on the neck with a kitchen knife, police said. They said she was cut a second time when she put up her hands to stop the attack. The woman was hospitalized for treatment of her injuries.
Police were told Snow had left in a red pickup truck, which was spotted near Indiana 8 and Indiana 327. Police said they attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled. The vehicle became disabled on Indiana 3 in Noble County, police said, and Snow was placed in custody.
After treatment at a local hospital, Snow was taken to the DeKalb County Jail on the attempted murder and battery charges.
