Columbus 93, Atlanta 52
ATLANTA (AP) _ Katie Smith scored 25 points and Tonya Edwards 16 as the Columbus Quest routed the Atlanta Glory 93-52 Thursday night in the third-largest blowout in league history.
The Eastern Conference champion Quest, seeking a second straight league title, improved to a league-best 34-8. They held Atlanta player-coach Teresa Edwards to a career-low two points on 1-of-8 shooting.
The 41-point loss was Atlanta’s second-worst in franchise history and the third-largest margin in the ABL’s two-year history. The Quest beat the Glory 107-64 last season in Columbus.
The Quest took a 43-33 halftime lead and outscored the Glory (15-27) 31-8 in the third quarter.
Saudia Roundtree led Atlanta with 14 points. Katrina McClain had 13 and Stacey Lovelace 12.
Edwards had five rebounds and six of Atlanta’s nine assists but was held scoreless in the second half.
