NEW YORK (AP) _ Stocks that were moving substantially or trading heavily Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market.


Univision Communications Inc., up $5.53 at $39.56

The Spanish-language television network met Wall Street's fourth-quarter expectations despite a 69 percent drop in profit caused by weak advertising revenue. The company also indicated its ratings are improving.

Kmart Corp., down 10 cents at 94 cents

The discount retailer, which sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last month, is changing the corporate organization for its stores.

General Mills Corp., down $1.52 at $48.31

The cereal and other foods maker Tuesday lowered its earnings expectations for the third fiscal quarter, citing weak volume sales as it integrates Pillsbury's businesses into its operations.


Mazel Stores Inc., up 40 cents at $3.40; Value City Department Stores Inc., down 11 cents at $4.04

Value City agreed to pay Mazel Stores $8.38 million to end the companies' department store joint venture. Under the venture, Mazel Stores operated health and beauty care, toy and sporting goods departments in Value City stores.

Digital Recorders Inc., up 30 cents at $3.10

A federal judge denied a motion to dismiss a patent infringement claim against the company, but did agree to remove the company's chief executive from the case.

Genencor International Inc., down $2.37 at $10.10

The biotechnology company reported satisfactory fourth-quarter results but indicated 2002 will be difficult. Merrill Lynch and Wachovia reduced their ratings on the stock.
