2 men sentenced after historic heroin bust in RI
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Two men have been sentenced to federal prison for drug crimes following the largest heroin seizure ever in Rhode Island.
Jorge Daniel Estrada of Providence has been sentenced to 15 years in prison and Angel Feliz of Boston has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison. The U.S. Attorney’s office announced the sentences Tuesday.
The men were arrested in October in an investigation by Providence police and federal authorities that uncovered 19 kilograms of heroin with an estimated value of $4.5 million. They pleaded guilty in January.
Authorities say the seizure is the largest of its kind in state history.
