Neighborhood celebrates alley reconstruction
Residents in the Hamilton Neighborhood, along with Mayor Tom Henry, celebrated the completion of alley reconstruction work today.
The alleys in the neighborhood had deep, worn-away dirt and gravel ruts making it difficult for vehicles to maneuver, a statement from the City of Fort Wayne said.
Funding for the infrastructure improvement was made available by Fort Wayne City Council, it said, after approving an adjustment to the local income tax to go toward the repair.
A total of one mile of alley reconstruction was completed in the neighborhood, with another two miles under construction and scheduled to be completed later this year.
