HUNTINGTON — The following information was provided by police reports filed at the Cabell County Sheriff’s Office:

WEAPONS, NARCOTICS: One person was allegedly caught with meth in his pocket in booking at Western Regional Jail after being arrested on a weapons law violation charge Wednesday morning.

Kevin Scott Fox, 34, was arrested in the 6100 block of Booten Creek Road at 8:02 a.m. Wednesday.

The Cabell County Sheriff’s Office and Barboursville Police Department responded to a shots-fired call near the Cabell County 4-H Camp. Police apprehended four people near the Cabell County Sheriff’s Office training facility in the area and made contact with Fox.

Officers allegedly found a knife and a loaded .38 caliber handgun on Fox. The suspect was placed in restraints and it was discovered that Fox had two prior convictions for misdemeanor drug charges in Cabell County and felony charges from Brunswick County, North Carolina, that could not be confirmed due to hurricane closures.

Fox was charged with person prohibited from possessing a firearm and taken to Western Regional Jail on a $10,000 bond. According to the criminal complaint, jail staff allegedly found a baggie with approximately eight grams of a white powdery substance and a glass pipe in the front pocket of the suspect’s jeans.
