November 29, 2014

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (AP) — England captain Alastair Cook won the toss and elected to bat first in the second one-day international against Sri Lanka at R. Premadasa Stadium on Saturday.

England’s fast bowler Steven Finn returned to the side after missing the first match due to an injury. Ben Stokes made way.

Sri Lanka fielded an unchanged side from the first match which they won by 25 runs.

The match has been reduced to 45 overs per side because of morning rain.

A minute’s silence was observed before the match to honor Australian batsman Phil Hughes who died Thursday after being struck by a ball in the neck in a domestic match.
