PSV loses at Groningen, Twente leads Dutch league
AMSTERDAM (AP) — PSV Eindhoven wasted a chance to go top of the Dutch league after losing at FC Groningen 1-0 Sunday.
PSV failed to score despite several clear chances in the first half. Groningen’s 20-year-old striker Filip Kostic punished the visitors in the 50th with the game’s only goal, putting in a pass from Tjaronn Cheryon.
FC Twente remains in first place after drawing with Ajax 1-1 on Saturday.
Luc Castaignos put Twente ahead after 22 minutes and Ajax’s Kolbeinn Sigthorsson got the equalizer with less than 10 minutes left.
After 10 rounds, Ajax, PSV and PEC Zwolle each have 18 points, with Twente on 19.
